New Mexico High School Basketball - Gadsden toppled by Mayfield

Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Gadsden Panthers (Anthony, NM), 63-44 in a league match.

With the victory, Mayfield upgrades its record to 9-11 on the year. The Trojans host Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM) to face the Knights in a 5A District 3 match on Monday, February 3. The Knights enter the match with a record of 15-5. Organ Mountain won 54-48 in their recent league match against Centennial (Las Cruces, NM)

The Panthers now sport a 5-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Alamogordo for a 5A District 3 match on Monday, February 3. Gadsden will face a Tigers squad coming off a 62-40 league loss to Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM). The Tigers record now stands at 9-11.
