In Thursday's league test, the Mountainair Mustangs (Mountainair, NM) basketball squad knocked off the host Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM), by a score of 46-35.
Next, the Mustangs encounter the Corona/Vaughn Cardinals (Corona, NM) in a A District 3 test, on Friday, January 31. Mountainair will attempt to improve on its 4-16 season record. The Cardinals come into the test with a 11-3 record after their 49-33 non-league win over Des Moines (Des Moines, NM).
The Eagles (8-6) will now prepare for their test against Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM). The Cougars come into the A District 3 test with a 6-12 record. In their last test, Alamo Navajo was knocked off by Reserve (Reserve, NM), 68-30, in a non-league test.
