The Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN) basketball nipped the host Jefferson County Patriots (Dandridge, TN), 50-48 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Fighting Cocks (14-9) will now prepare for their test against Hancock County (Sneedville, TN). The Indians go into the non-league test with a 4-15 record. In their last test, Hancock County got by Washburn (Washburn, TN), 68-53, in a league test.
The Patriots now own a 11-12 record. They play next when they travel to Morristown-Hamblen East for a non-league test on Friday, February 3. Jefferson County will encounter a Hurricanes squad coming off a 73-60 non-league win over Science Hill (Johnson City, TN). The Hurricanes record now stands at 10-7.
