Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Jefferson County Patriots (Dandridge, TN), 52-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Cocke County upgrades its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Fighting Cocks travel to Asheville (Asheville, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 2-5. Asheville won 70-62 in their recent league bout against Erwin (Asheville, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the David Crockett Pioneers (Jonesborough, TN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Jefferson County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 64-51 non-league win over Cosby (Cosby, TN).
