In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA) basketball squad nipped the visiting Irwin County Indians (Ocilla, GA), by a margin of 69-66.
The Purple Hurricane (9-11) will now prepare for their outing against Berrien (Nashville, GA). The Rebels go into the AA Region 1 outing with a 6-15 record. In their last outing, Berrien was tipped by Cook (Adel, GA), 61-44, in a league outing.
The Indians now own a 10-10 record. They play next when they host Coffee for a non-league outing on Thursday, February 2. Irwin County will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 62-54 non-league loss to Clinch County (Homerville, GA). The Trojans record now stands at 11-12.
