Utah High School Basketball - Hillcrest topped by Payson

The Payson Lions basketball team scored 72 points and restricted the visiting Hillcrest Huskies to 59 in the Lions league victory on Tuesday.

The Lions now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Uintah for a non-league contest on Thursday, February 2. Payson will battle a Utes team coming off a 68-62 league win over Tooele (Tooele, UT). The Utes record now stands at 10-6.

The Huskies (10-9) will now prepare for their contest against Cottonwood (Salt Lake City, UT). The Colts come into the 5A Region 7 contest with a 18-1 record. In their last contest, Cottonwood prevailed over Stansbury (Stansbury Park, UT), 71-44, in a league contest.
