In Tuesday's league outing, the Kingwood Park Panthers (Kingwood, TX) basketball squad edged the host Porter Spartans (Porter, TX), by a count of 36-33.

The Panthers (14-16) will now prepare for their outing against Lufkin (Lufkin, TX). The Panthers go into the 5A Region II District 16 outing with a 29-3 record. In their last outing, Lufkin held off Dayton (Dayton, TX), 60-21, in a league outing.

The Spartans now hold a 9-20 record. They play next when they travel to Nacogdoches for a 5A Region II District 16 outing on Friday, February 3. Porter will clash with a Dragons squad coming off a 73-31 league win over Huntsville (Huntsville, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 18-11.
