Texas High School Basketball - Vega can't hold off Panhandle

The Vega Longhorns basketball team (Vega, TX), was nudged 51-49 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Panhandle Panthers (Panhandle, TX)
The Panthers now sport a 17-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Highland Park for a 2A Region I District 3 battle on Friday, February 3. Panhandle will battle a Hornets team coming off a 67-26 league loss to Farwell (Farwell, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 11-15.
The Longhorns (14-10) will now prepare for their battle against Bovina (Bovina, TX). The Mustangs come into the 2A Region I District 3 battle with a 14-12 record. In their last battle, Bovina was nudged by Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX), 63-31, in a league battle.
