Texas High School Basketball - Smithson Valley can't hold off Canyon

The Smithson Valley Rangers basketball team (Spring Branch, TX), was nudged 49-47 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX)
The Cougars now sport a 10-19 record. They put it on the line next when they host Seguin for a 5A Region IV District 26 battle on Friday, February 3. Canyon will battle a Matadors team coming off a 42-22 league win over Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX). The Matadors record now stands at 10-25.
The Rangers (11-20) will now prepare for their battle against Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX). The Chargers come into the 5A Region IV District 26 battle with a 26-6 record. In their last battle, Boerne-Champion edged Pieper (San Antonio, TX), 65-37, in a league battle.
