Texas High School Basketball - Canyon overwhelmed by Smithson Valley

The Smithson Valley Rangers basketball team scored 66 points and restricted the host Canyon Cougars to 44 in the Rangers league victory on Friday.

The Rangers now sport a 10-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Boerne-Champion for a 5A Region IV District 26 contest on Tuesday, January 10. Smithson Valley will battle a Chargers team coming off a 58-47 league win over Pieper (San Antonio, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 20-5.

The Cougars (3-15) will now prepare for their contest against Seguin (Seguin, TX). The Matadors come into the 5A Region IV District 26 contest with a 9-18 record. In their last contest, Seguin triumphed over Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX), 50-24, in a league contest.
