Tiftarea Academy Panthers (Chula, GA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Valwood Valiants (Valdosta, GA), 56-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Tiftarea Academy upgrades its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Deerfield-Windsor (Albany, GA) to play the Knights in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout on Friday, February 3. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 20-1. Deerfield-Windsor won 59-30 in their recent league bout against Brookwood (Thomasville, GA)

Next up, the Valiants play the Terrell Academy Eagles (Dawson, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout, on Friday, February 3. Valwood will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 13-10 record after their 37-28 league loss to Southland Academy (Americus, GA).
