Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the West Bolivar Eagles (Rosedale, MS) and the visiting Leland Cubs (Leland, MS), saw West Bolivar's basketball squad overcome Leland by a tally of 39-25.

With the victory, West Bolivar improves its record to 11-13 on the campaign. The Eagles host South Delta (Rolling Fork, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a 1A Region 5 challenge on Friday, February 2. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 16-5. South Delta won 65-62 in their recent league challenge against West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS)

Next up, the Cubs confront the Shaw Warriors (Shaw, MS) in a 1A Region 5 challenge, on Friday, February 2. Leland will attempt to improve on its 3-19 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 5-19 record after their 60-52 league win over Simmons (Hollandale, MS).
