Otay Ranch Mustangs (Chula Vista, CA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host San Ysidro Cougars (San Diego, CA), 54-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Otay Ranch upgrades its record to 9-17 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Bonita Vista (Chula Vista, CA) to play the Barons in a Mesa bout on Friday, February 2. The Barons come into the bout with a record of 13-13. Bonita Vista lost 72-29 in their recent league bout against Montgomery (San Diego, CA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders (Chula Vista, CA) in a Mesa bout, on Friday, February 2. San Ysidro will attempt to upgrade on its 6-19 season record. The Crusaders come into the bout with a 14-11 record after their 72-57 non-league win over Helix (La Mesa, CA).
