William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Rappahannock County (Washington, VA), 58-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, William Monroe upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Dragons travel to Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, VA) to play the Blue Streaks in a Valley bout on Friday, February 2. The Blue Streaks go into the bout with a record of 12-7. Harrisonburg won 64-60 in their recent league bout against Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA)

Next up, the play the Page County Panthers (Shenandoah, VA) in a Bull Run bout, on Friday, February 2. Rappahannock County will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 4-16 record after their 54-46 league loss to Madison County (Madison, VA).
