Johnston Panthers (Johnston, RI) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hope Blue Wave (Providence, RI), 49-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Johnston upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Panthers travel to Central (Providence, RI) to play the Knights in a Division 4 bout on Friday, February 2. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 2-12. Central lost 57-30 in their recent league bout against Davies Career & Tech (Lincoln, RI)

Next up, the Blue Wave play the Times Squared Academy Eagles (Providence, RI) in a Division 4 bout, on Friday, February 2. Hope will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 44-34 league loss to Blackstone Valley Prep (Cumberland, RI).
