North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central overwhelms Ashe County

The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team scored 59 points and limited the host Ashe County Huskies to 29 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.
The Cougars now possess a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Watauga for a 3A/4A Northwestern game on Tuesday, February 4. Alexander Central will play a Pioneers team coming off a 80-61 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 13-6.
With the loss, Ashe County falls to 6-11 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to play the Panthers in a 3A/4A Northwestern game on Tuesday, February 4. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 3-17. Hibriten lost 82-44 in their recent league game against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
