The Commerce Tigers basketball squad (Commerce, GA), was crushed 68-36 in Friday's league battle with the host Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA)
With the victory, Athens Academy advances its record to 17-5 on the year. The Spartans host Banks County (Homer, GA) to meet the Leopards in a A D1 Region 8 battle on Tuesday, February 4. The Leopards enter the battle with a record of 17-5. Banks County won 61-29 in their recent league battle against Rabun County (Tiger, GA)
The Tigers now own a 6-17 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oglethorpe County for a A D1 Region 8 battle on Tuesday, February 4. Commerce will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 69-42 league loss to Elbert County (Elberton, GA). The Patriots record now stands at 4-16.
