The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Creekview Mustangs (Carrollton, TX) and the visiting The Colony Cougars (The Colony, TX), observed Creekview's basketball team edge The Colony by a margin of 40-36.

The Mustangs (16-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Newman Smith (Carrollton, TX). The Trojans come into the 5A Region II District 12 challenge with a 13-11 record. In their last challenge, Newman Smith was tipped by Highland Park (Dallas, TX), 63-39, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Lone Star Rangers (Frisco, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. The Colony will attempt to better on its 15-15 season record. The Rangers come into the challenge with a 14-16 record after their 72-70 league loss to Wakeland (Frisco, TX).
