The Mustangs (13-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Newman Smith (Carrollton, TX). The Trojans come into the 5A Region II District 12 challenge with a 12-6 record. In their last challenge, Newman Smith was knocked off by Highland Park (Dallas, TX), 70-19, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Lone Star Rangers (Frisco, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 challenge, on Friday, January 10. The Colony will attempt to improve on its 11-12 season record. The Rangers come into the challenge with a 9-13 record after their 56-36 league loss to Wakeland (Frisco, TX).
