In Friday's league test, the George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA) basketball squad got by the visiting Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA), by a final score of 40-37.
Next, the Eagles clash with the Carlisle Chiefs (Axton, VA) in a non-league test, on Monday, February 3. George Washington will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Chiefs come into the test with a 10-4 record after their 61-50 league win over Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA).
The Comets (7-11) will now prepare for their test against Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Minutemen come into the non-league test with a 12-3 record. In their last test, Liberty held off Brookville (Lynchburg, VA), 53-34, in a league test.
