North Carolina High School Basketball - Shelby bests Highland Tech

January 31, 2025: Gastonia, NC 28052

The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball toppled the host Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC), 45-30 in Friday's league bout.

The Golden Lions now possess a 13-7 record. They play next when they host Bessemer City for a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Wednesday, February 5. Shelby will play a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 54-37 league win over Cherryville (Cherryville, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 10-9.

With the loss, Highland Tech falls to 7-12 on the campaign. The Rams host Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (Mooresboro, NC) to play the Gryphons in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Gryphons go into the bout with a record of 13-6.
