In Thursday's league test, the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball squad defeated the visiting Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC), by a score of 47-35.

Next, the Golden Lions clash with the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont test, on Tuesday, January 14. Shelby will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record.

The Rams (6-8) will now prepare for their test against Cherryville (Cherryville, NC). The Ironmen come into the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont test with a 5-8 record.
