The Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME) basketball were winner over the host Monmouth Academy Mustangs (Monmouth, ME), 40-22 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Black Bears now possess a 10-7 record. They play next when they travel to Madison for a non-league bout on Monday, February 3. Maranacook will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 56-30 league win over Mount Abram (Strong, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, Monmouth Academy falls to 12-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Hall-Dale (Farmingdale, ME) to play the Bulldogs in a C South bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 15-3. Hall-Dale won 68-47 in their recent league bout against Madison (Madison, ME)
