The Shallowater Mustangs (Shallowater, TX) basketball toppled the visiting Slaton Tigers (Slaton, TX), 50-34 in Friday's league bout.

The Mustangs now possess a 24-8 record. They play next when they travel to Idalou for a 3A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, February 4. Shallowater will play a Wildcats team coming off a 57-26 league win over Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 25-8.

With the loss, Slaton falls to 15-11 on the campaign. The Tigers host Muleshoe (Muleshoe, TX) to play the Mules in a 3A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Mules go into the bout with a record of 6-21. Muleshoe won 70-57 in their recent league bout against Friona (Friona, TX)
