The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Shallowater Mustangs (Shallowater, TX) and the host Slaton Tigers (Slaton, TX), observed Shallowater's basketball team overcome Slaton by a score of 48-37.

The Mustangs (14-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Idalou (Idalou, TX). The Wildcats come into the 3A Region I District 2 challenge with a 20-6 record. In their last challenge, Idalou defeated Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX), 83-23, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Muleshoe Mules (Muleshoe, TX) in a 3A Region I District 2 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Slaton will attempt to improve on its 10-8 season record. The Mules come into the challenge with a 5-15 record after their 41-38 league loss to Friona (Friona, TX).
