In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Franklin County Eagles basketball team scored a good 44-24 triumph over the Staunton River Golden Eagles.
The Eagles (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against William Byrd (Vinton, VA). The Terriers go into the non-league contest with a 5-13 record. In their last contest, William Byrd was topped by Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA), 48-35, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Golden Eagles battle the Christiansburg Blue Demons (Christiansburg, VA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, February 3. Staunton River will attempt to better on its 6-12 season record. The Blue Demons go into the contest with a 10-7 record after their 59-53 non-league win over Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA).
