Georgia High School Basketball - Piedmont Academy thwarts Oak Mountain Academy

The Piedmont Academy Cougars (Monticello, GA) basketball knocked off the visiting Oak Mountain Academy Warriors (Carrollton, GA), 79-65 in Tuesday's league test.

The Cougars (3-5) will now prepare for their test against Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA). The Buccaneers go into the non-league test with a 6-1 record. In their last test, Briarwood Academy notched a victory over Nathanael Greene Academy (Siloam, GA), 70-37, in a non-league test.

The Warriors now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to LaGrange Academy for a GISA AA Region 1 test on Friday, January 7. Oak Mountain Academy will encounter a squad coming off a 59-53 non-league win over Southern Christian (Opelika, AL). The record now stands at 2-8.
