Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Iredell Warriors (Statesville, NC), 40-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Statesville upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Greyhounds travel to Mooresville (Mooresville, NC) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Monday, January 10. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 5-0. Mooresville won 47-29 in their recent league bout against West Cabarrus (Concord, NC)

Next up, the Warriors play the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) in a bout, on Friday, January 7. West Iredell will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Red Tornadoes go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 47-27 non-league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).
