The Cherryville Ironmen basketball team (Cherryville, NC), was overwhelmed 85-54 in Wednesday's league battle with the host East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC)
The Warriors now possess a 11-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Thomas Jefferson for a 1A/2A Conference 40 battle on Friday, January 6. East Gaston will confront a Gryphons team coming off a 64-33 league loss to Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Gryphons record now stands at 3-9.
The Ironmen (4-7) will now prepare for their battle against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Yellow Jackets come into the 1A/2A Conference 40 battle with a 9-4 record. In their last battle, Bessemer City trounced Shelby (Shelby, NC), 66-49, in a league battle.
