In Thursday's non-league outing, the Tazewell Bulldogs (Tazewell, VA) basketball squad edged the visiting Hurley Rebels (Hurley, VA), by a margin of 52-46.

The Bulldogs (1-9) will now prepare for their outing against Virginia High (Bristol, VA). The Bearcats come into the Southwest bout with a 7-4 record. In their last bout, Virginia High nipped Graham (Bluefield, VA), 57-35, in a league bout.

Next up, the Rebels play the Richlands Blue Tornado (Richlands, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Hurley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Blue Tornado come into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 76-74 non-league win over East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY).
