The Belfry Pirates basketball team scored 62 points and limited the visiting Mingo Central Miners to 49 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Pirates now have a 6-8 record. They play next when they host East Ridge for a non-league game on Wednesday, January 8. Belfry will confront a Warriors team coming off a 85-58 non-league loss to Martin County (Inez, KY). The Warriors record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Mingo Central falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Miners host WestSide (Clear Fork, WV) to confront the Renegades in a Coalfield AA game on Tuesday, January 14. The Renegades go into the game with a record of 0-3.
