Georgia High School Basketball - Screven County can't hold off Jenkins County

January 4, 2025: Sylvania, GA 30467

Jenkins County War Eagles (Millen, GA) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA), 54-51 in a league match.

With the victory, Jenkins County advances its record to 5-7 on the year. The War Eagles host Bryan County (Pembroke, GA) to face the Redskins in a A D2 Region 3 match on Tuesday, January 7. The Redskins enter the match with a record of 7-4.

The Gamecocks now own a 4-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Claxton for a A D2 Region 3 match on Tuesday, January 7. Screven County will face a Tigers squad coming off a 93-39 league loss to Savannah (Savannah, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 4-6.
