West Virginia High School Basketball - Bluefield overwhelmed by Independence

In Sunday's league test, the Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) basketball squad trounced the visiting Bluefield Beavers (Bluefield, WV), by a final score of 53-25.

With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 3-3 on the year. The Patriots travel to Webster County (Upper Glade, WV) to face the Highlanders in a non-league match on Monday, December 30. The Highlanders enter the match with a record of 2-2. Webster County won 53-21 in their recent league match against Braxton County (Sutton, WV)

The Beavers now sport a 0-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host James Monroe for a Coalfield AA match on Thursday, January 2. Bluefield will face a Mavericks squad coming off a 46-38 non-league win over Parkersburg South (Parkersburg, WV). The Mavericks record now stands at 6-2.
