Massachusetts High School Basketball - Commonwealth ripped by Newman

The Newman basketball team scored 77 points and held the visiting Commonwealth Mermaids to 16 in the non-league triumph on Thursday.
The now sport a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marie Philip for a non-league contest on Monday, January 9. Newman will meet a Galloping Ghosts team coming off a 63-50 league loss to Brimmer & May (Chestnut Hill, MA). The Galloping Ghosts record now stands at 8-2.
The Mermaids (0-6) will now prepare for their contest against Boston University Academy (Boston, MA). The enter the Massachusetts Bay 2 contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Boston University Academy was routed by Marie Philip (Framingham, MA), 59-34, in a league contest.
