South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Massabesic Mustangs (Waterboro, ME), 82-22 in a league bout.

With the victory, South Portland upgrades its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Red Riots travel to Scarborough (Scarborough, ME) to play the Red Storm in a AA South bout on Saturday, January 7. The Red Storm come into the bout with a record of 2-5. Scarborough lost 61-40 in their recent league bout against Thornton Academy (Saco, ME)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Oxford Hills Vikings (South Paris, ME) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Massabesic will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 51-46 league loss to Lewiston (Lewiston, ME).
