Deer Lakes Lancers (Russellton, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mt. Pleasant Vikings (Mt. Pleasant, PA), 44-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Deer Lakes upgrades its record to 4-8 on the season. The Lancers host Apollo Ridge (Spring Church, PA) to play the Vikings in a WPIAL 3A 3 bout on Monday, January 9. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 8-2. Apollo Ridge won 46-20 in their recent league bout against Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Ligonier Valley Rams (Ligonier, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 bout, on Thursday, January 12. Mt. Pleasant will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record.
