The South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) basketball knocked off the host Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), 45-34 in Thursday's league test.
The Sauras (6-5) will now prepare for their test against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Cardinals go into the non-league test with a 7-1 record. In their last test, East Surry notched a victory over Reagan (Pfafftown, NC), 58-45, in a non-league test.
The Buckin' Elks now own a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to Starmount for a 1A Conference 36 test on Friday, January 6. Elkin will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 81-77 non-league loss to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Rams record now stands at 5-7.
