The Jay Bulldogs (Jay, OK) basketball nipped the visiting Grove Ridgerunners (Grove, OK), 48-45 in Friday's non-league test.
The Bulldogs (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Oologah (Oologah, OK). The Mustangs go into the Verdigris Valley test with a 6-3 record.
The Ridgerunners now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they host Pryor for a 5A District 3 test on Tuesday, January 9. Grove will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 52-35 non-league win over Dewey (Dewey, OK). The Tigers record now stands at 1-6.
