Texas High School Basketball - Southwest edges McCollum

January 5, 2024: San Antonio, TX 78221

The Southwest Dragons (San Antonio, TX) basketball nipped the host McCollum Cowboys (San Antonio, TX), 70-63 in Friday's league test.

The Dragons (19-3) will now prepare for their test against Southside (San Antonio, TX). The Cardinals go into the 5A Region IV District 28 test with a 4-13 record. In their last test, Southside was tipped by Winn (Eagle Pass, TX), 60-52, in a league test.

The Cowboys now own a 2-13 record. They play next when they host Medina Valley for a 5A Region IV District 28 test on Tuesday, January 9. McCollum will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 82-67 league loss to Harlandale (San Antonio, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 6-16.
