The Valley View Blazers (Jonesboro, AR) basketball felled the visiting Batesville Pioneers (Batesville, AR), 58-47 in Friday's league test.

The Blazers (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Paragould (Paragould, AR). The Rams go into the 5A East test with a 1-10 record. In their last test, Paragould was beaten by Searcy (Searcy, AR), 57-28, in a league test.

The Pioneers now own a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to Greene County Tech for a 5A East test on Tuesday, January 9. Batesville will encounter a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 56-48 league win over Nettleton (Jonesboro, AR). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 13-5.
