Batesville Pioneers (Batesville, AR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Valley View Blazers (Jonesboro, AR), 54-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Batesville upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Pioneers host Greene County Tech (Paragould, AR) to play the Golden Eagles in a 5A East bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 20-5. Greene County Tech won 40-38 in their recent league bout against Nettleton (Jonesboro, AR)

Next up, the Blazers play the Paragould Rams (Paragould, AR) in a 5A East bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Valley View will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 1-19 record after their 52-34 league loss to Searcy (Searcy, AR).
