    The Lone Star Rangers basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Newman Smith Trojans to 36 in the Rangers league triumph on Friday.

    The Rangers now sport a 7-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host The Colony for a 5A Region II District 9 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Lone Star will meet a Cougars team coming off a 45-43 league win over Frisco (Frisco, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 11-13.

    The Trojans (8-10) will now prepare for their contest against Turner (Carrollton, TX). The Lions enter the 5A Region II District 9 contest with a 4-13 record. In their last contest, Turner was routed by Reedy (Frisco, TX), 53-13, in a league contest.
