Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Lee Generals (Jonesville, VA), 40-23 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gate City upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Tennessee (Bristol, TN) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 0-1.

Next up, the Generals play the John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Lee will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 36-16 non-league loss to Abingdon (Abingdon, VA).
