The Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA), 57-54 in Friday's league test.
The Cavaliers (9-2) will now prepare for their test against James River (Buchanan, VA). The Knights go into the Three Rivers test with a 9-4 record. In their last battle, James River was nudged by Pulaski County (Dublin, VA), 61-49, in a non-league battle.
The Mountaineers (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Glenvar (Salem, VA). The Highlanders come into the Three Rivers battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Glenvar was nudged by Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA), 57-49, in a non-league battle.
