Ashland Oredockers (Ashland, WI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Spooner Rails (Spooner, WI), 59-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Ashland upgrades its record to 4-6 on the season. The Oredockers host Merrill (Merrill, WI) to play the Bluejays in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Bluejays go into the bout with a record of 3-5. Merrill lost 60-42 in their recent league bout against Stevens Point (Stevens Point, WI)

Next up, the Rails play the Bloomer Blackhawks (Bloomer, WI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Spooner will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Blackhawks go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 56-54 league win over Fall Creek (Fall Creek, WI).
