Brownsville Falcons (Brownsville, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mt. Pleasant Vikings (Mt. Pleasant, PA), 49-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Brownsville upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Falcons travel to McGuffey (Claysville, PA) to play the Highlanders in a WPIAL 3A 4 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Highlanders go into the bout with a record of 8-5. McGuffey won 59-38 in their recent league bout against Charleroi (Charleroi, PA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Yough Cougars (Herminie, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Mt. Pleasant will attempt to improve on its 2-10 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 56-38 league loss to Washington (Washington, PA).
