Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights (Cecil, AL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Glenwood Gators (Phenix City, AL), 58-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Macon-East Montgomery Academy upgrades its record to 14-3 on the season. The Knights host Ezekiel Academy (Montgomery, AL) to clash with the Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 5-9. Ezekiel Academy lost 55-54 in their recent league bout against Tuscaloosa Home Educators (Northport, AL)

Next up, the Gators clash with the Southern Prep Academy Fighting Rangers (Camp Hill, AL) in a AISA AAA Region 1 bout, on Monday, January 9. Glenwood will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Fighting Rangers go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 81-56 league loss to Lee-Scott Academy (Auburn, AL).
