Gunter Tigers (Gunter, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Howe Bulldogs (Howe, TX), 34-33 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gunter upgrades its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Bonham (Bonham, TX) to play the Warriors in a 3A Region II District 11 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 5-17. Bonham lost 70-37 in their recent league bout against Bells (Bells, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Blue Ridge Tigers (Blue Ridge, TX) in a 3A Region II District 11 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Howe will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 10-12 record after their 66-56 league win over Leonard (Leonard, TX).
