Howe Bulldogs (Howe, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Gunter Tigers (Gunter, TX), 58-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Howe upgrades its record to 13-10 on the season. The Bulldogs host Leonard (Leonard, TX) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region II District 11 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 11-16. Leonard won 51-42 in their recent league bout against Blue Ridge (Blue Ridge, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Pottsboro Cardinals (Pottsboro, TX) in a 3A Region II District 11 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Gunter will attempt to upgrade on its 23-5 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 23-7 record after their 52-48 league win over Bells (Bells, TX).
