Texas High School Basketball - Highland Park can't hold off Bovina

The Bovina Mustangs basketball team scored 44 points and held the host Highland Park Hornets to 37 in the Mustangs league triumph on Friday.
The Mustangs now sport a 1-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Farwell for a 2A Region I District 3 contest on Tuesday, January 10. Bovina will battle a Steers team coming off a 48-35 league loss to Panhandle (Panhandle, TX). The Steers record now stands at 20-4.
The Hornets (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Vega (Vega, TX). The Longhorns enter the 2A Region I District 3 contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, Vega nudged Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX), 52-40, in a league contest.
